$279.99
The HD webcam needs a PC but the base
doesn't need a PC. The base is controlled by the
remote control and not controlled by the PC.
NOTE: You can't zoom from the
remote, since the base has no connection to the PC.
Control the camera using the remote.
You can put the video onto the internet, you control the movement
using the remote control.
Ever need to video yourself?
Mounting your digital camera or camcorder to a
tripod and pointing it at yourself works, as long as you don't
move. But now there's a better way.
Introducing the IR-Base, a compact motorized base for
camcorders controlled using a TV-style remote control.
The base
does not connect to the internet, but the webcam can.
Then others on the internet can see what you have the webcam
pointing at and they can also see you move the webcam using the
remote. It is for moving the
camera using a remote control while you are in the same room.
The distance the remote works is the same as your TV or DVD
remote control works. You can the remote that comes with
the system with a universal one at any time. Unlike our standard product, the new IR-Base needs no
computer or software. Just mount your camcorder to it, plug in
power cord, grab the remote control, and you're off.
Just push buttons on the remote control to turn your
camcorder up, down, left, or right as you record yourself.
If you can change channels on your TV* you can use the
IR-Base.

*Plasma TV's
might interfere with IR signals. You may need a more
powerful IR remote. First you should make sure
that other IR remote controls work when the TV is on.
If you have a Universal remote that works when the TV is on,
you can program it for a Sony TV (usually code 000, 001, or
002). Then you can use the number buttons to
control the IR base.
Universal remote and power supply included.
Notes:
The handheld is a regular TV remote control,
just like the ones that come with your TV.
You can even get a powerful universal remote
control that can go further distances than the one that
comes with this system. If you program a universal remote, our remote control base is a Sony brand.
It is usually listed as the 1st code in the list of Sony TV's, such as a code 000.
TESTING long distances, special rooms, going through glass or
window etc: We would like to think it would work
through, but the best way to test it out is to get any remote control and test it out. Put the TV/vcr/stereo etc in the room where the camera is going to be in, and have the handheld remote control in the other room. Point the remote at the front of the tv/vcr/stereo and test it out. If that test work, then ours will work too.
